Please support our mission to keep animals in their homes and find new homes for homeless pets when that’s not possible.
At EMCAP, our mission is to help pets stay in their homes through community outreach programs; food pantries, low cost vaccine and spay/neuter services and microchipping, which keeps them out of overcrowded shelters. We will also assist local shelters by rescuing puppies and kittens to make kennel space, decreasing euthanasia for space.
Please view the FAQ section first. If you are unable to find the answer to your question please email us at emcapnm@gmail.com
EMCAP Puppy/Kitten Rescue is a registered 501c3 charitable organization, dedicated to assisting the people and animals of our community. Our goal is to keep pets in their homes and out of overcrowded shelters by offering food, low cost preventative vetting and resources to pet owners. We also rescue puppies and kittens from the community and local shelters, freeing up valuable kennel space.
We appreciate your support for our cause. We can only save innocent lives with your help. We have several ways to help!

The short answer is No. There are millions of animals being euthanized in shelters annually- we are dedicated to saving as many homeless, unwanted lives as possible. The best way you can help is to keep your pet. While we understand that life circumstances change and you feel this is what’s best for your dog or cat- there is no situation in which the shelter is a better option for your pet. We urge you to try all options before rehoming or surrendering your animal. Ask family members and trusted friends to take over your responsibility.
Our average adoption fees are as follows:
Dogs and Puppies- $250-350, based on what type of additional vet care or special supplies they may have required while in foster. This adoption fee includes 3-4 DA2PP vaccines (distemper, adenovirus, 2 forms of parainfluenza and parvovirus,) bordatella intranasal, one year rabies vaccine, deworming, brief exam, microchipping with lifetime registration, spay or neuter with pain management, six months worth of Nexgard + flea/tick preventative, heart worm preventative and deworming protection.
Kittens and Cats- $175, and this adoption fee includes 2-3 FVRCP vaccines, deworming, flea/tick treatment, microchipping with lifetime registration, sterilization with pain management and FELV /FIV TESTING on cats over 6 months old
Visit our Adopt a pet page to view available animals. Once you find an animal you are interested in meeting, fill out an inquiry on that animal. We will contact you directly but URGE you to attend an adoption event and come early. When we have numerous applications for a single animal, an adoption event is the best place to meet them in person rather than waiting to have a one on one meeting scheduled.
Events listed in this section are open to the public for Adoptions and/or Fundraising
